Looks like fun!
What is the "Dinner Party"?
The Dinner Party is a once a month event put on by We Love Long Beach. The two main goals behind the event are to get neighbors together over a good meal and to get to know each other better, and to support new and established restaurants in the city through a wonderful dining experience. We see it as a win-win for all!
If you are interested in our next "Dinner Party" email us at welovelb@gmail.com
Thank you Lisa and staff for a beautiful night!

We Love Long Beach Wilson Club::: Throwing a Thanksgiving Feast on Campus!
What does being "Thankful" look like?
What are you thankful for? It is the question that is asked at thanksgiving around the dinner table. I know what We Love Long Beach is thankful for... the opportunity to serve, to care, and especially to love Wilson High School. On November 24th we had the chance as We Love Long Beach Club at Wilson High and Best Buddies Club to serve about 100 special education students. We had only 30 minutes to feed a turkey dinner with all the sides and some yummy desert. It was a challenge to say the least, but there is always strength in numbers. We had about forty excited students up to the task. The feast in the end was a great success! Love is the best gift to all and like any gift that is received one can only say thank you! Thank you to the students and teachers that allowed such an event to happen. Thank you for all of the LOVE you displayed!!! We can't wait for Valentine's day!!!

Thanks for all the Love and Help
Thank You to everyone that helped out at the We Love Long Beach Wilson Club Thanksgiving Luncheon!!! I was amazed of really how smooth and beautiful it went; to witness students smiling, laughing, dancing, and enjoying their time. In my opinion it does not get much better than that! We have video and photos of the event for all of those that are interested. coming soon. I can only look forward to what is next. I am so blessed to have the opportunities that I have had this year to do the things that we have been doing. My mind continues to race with more ideas and ways that Long Beach can be "The Great City" I look forward to new friendships and new partnerships along the way. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Faulkner's:::As I Lay Dying::: Book for September
The date for our next meeting is Monday, September the 29th from 7-9pm.
Meeting place: Aroma Di Roma, 5327 E. 2nd Street, Long Beach, CA 90803
:::I hope to see you there:::Questions Email welovelb@gmail.com
Faulkner's distinctive narrative structures--the uses of multiple points of view and the inner psychological voices of the characters--in one of its most successful incarnations here in As I Lay Dying. In the story, the members of the Bundren family must take the body of Addie, matriarch of the family, to the town where Addie wanted to be buried. Along the way, we listen to each of the members on the macabre pilgrimage, while Faulkner heaps upon them various flavors of disaster.

We Love Long Beach:::Book for August
Richard's choice:::American Pastoral::: by Phillip Roth
Book info:" This novel examines the rise and fall of a man with a life that all his acquaintances thought was blessed--a star athlete and war hero, who goes on successfully to run his father's glove factory. A non-religious Jew, he marries a pretty Catholic girl (the former Miss New Jersey!), lives in a nice house, and has a pretty daughter, Merry--slips comfortably, in other words, into mainstream America.
The date for our next meeting is Monday, August 25th from 7-9pm.
